The Sum of Three Years of my Life

This is my last week of university!

The past 3 years have flown by and now I have to face the big, wide world with just my portfolio and a handful of skills to show for it!

For part of my FMP I have to have a blog or website address with an edited selection of my work so expect a post of my selected portfolio pages and pieces over the next few days!  I still need to cut my portfolio down to 20 sides for GFW, which is going to be death as I found it so hard to get the original down to 40!

For now these are a select few of my final images for my FMP.....

Foiling Around

Finally caved in and bought some nail foils that everyone went crazy for in the summer.  This is due to the fact I found them for £3 in Primark <3, a much nicer price than elsewhere and to be fair they have lasted almost a week now which is quite surprising.  I'm thinking of making my own so I don't have to stick with leopard print.

I need to seriously get on with sketchbook photoshopping as it's due in, in a month!

Up and coming shoots!

I haven't posted in forever! My bad!
Been busy trekking home and sorting out my 3 consecutive shoots this weekend!

One on friday consists of beauty shots contrasted with clown type ruffles!
I've been searching for a clown collar but no luck so am going to make a couple to use from this website!
Am so excited!

Saturdays shoot think religious goth, lots of black, crosses, lace and bondage - my kinda shoot ;)

And finally sunday!  The photographer sent me these pics for inspiration

I've bought some mickey mouse ears and some spotty stockings which I am so stealing after!  Look the tacky 80's-ness of these pics! Scrunchies and trash! What more could you want?!!!

Look forward to putting up some previews next week!

Saying this, I really need to concentrate on my FMP, but I have been in contact with some photographers and designers to collaborate with so that's a start!

Formichetti's gone Gaga

The above video is Formichetti's for Mugler A/W11 final presentation and it features his muse Lady Gaga as the backing track.
That is not the surprise however as it is more his eerily dark concept of using the heavily tattooed man named Rico in this film and in some shots. It seems Formichetti is bringing the 21st Century to Mugler and personally I love it.

The use of tattooed models has only increased and seeing this has it reached it's pinicle? Where do we go from here?  There is already another campaign (I am sorry I am desparately trying to find it/remember where I saw it!) showing a girl with tattoos plus also excessively large flesh tunnels.  It seems we really are going against the grain and I say, personally, bring it on.

Chip on your shoulder

Due to the fact I have been mainly looking at photographic techniques for my FMP so far, I realised how am I going to bring it back to fashion and to create a styling shoot?
So, I researched other shoots that used restriction/morphing of the body as a concept to see the direction I could take my own.
I came across a stylist called Lauren Boyle, who is the editor of up and coming magazine Dis Magazine.  She directed a shoot taking key pieces from S/S10 and transforming the models bone structure of their shoulders to fit in with the new season shapes.  This was to highlight the growing obsession for women to have surgical techniques to literally morph their shoulders to fit into the items of clothing.  For me it is such an inspirational shoot to go into my research folder.
